Rick Searle created EKOS Communications in 2005 as an outlet for his passion and expertise in the fields of environmental education, natural and cultural history interpretation and environmental communications. Prior to this, he operated under his name (Rick Searle & Associates).
Rick’s work in these fields has spanned 45 years. During this time, he has been pleased to have assisted many organizations with a variety of communications, education and engagement projects.
For the past 3 years, Rick has been retained to assist the Friends of Shoal Harbour Sanctuary Society with communications and engagement activities aimed at raising awareness and participation in the Naturehood program coordinated by Nature Canada.
In addition to contract work, he has also completed a great many independent projects. Most recently, he produced a short documentary, Wetlands Matter, which was broadcast across Western Canada by Shaw TV and was shared on line by such organizations as Ducks Unlimited Canada, the Oldman Watershed Council, and Lake Winnipeg Foundation.
