EKOS Explorations is the name I’ve given to the way I have found for bringing my passions together with earning an income. Through it, I provide services as an interpretive guide, tour director, expedition leader, and naturalist to ecotourism and educational operators, post-secondary continuing studies programs and seniors residences. These services include assistance with designing new experiences or breathing new life into old ones.
I’m also available to design, organize and lead customized tours for individuals or groups independently that have a strong emphasis on the natural and cultural history of Canada or one of its regions.
Additionally, I offer considerable expertise as a public speaker, photographer, and writer.
High resolution prints and digital versions of my photographs are available for sale or licensing. Please use the link below to make an inquiry.
My credentials include:
- Assistant Bear-Viewing Guide Certificate
- Advanced Marine and Wilderness First Aid and CPR
- Indigenous Awareness Certificate
- Marine Emergency Duties A2
- Restricted Operator’s Certificate
In 2016, I was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and a director of the Victoria Natural History Society. In November of 2017, I was elected to the board of the Wilderness Tourism Association of BC and was appointed as it’s Secretary.
