This photo was taken from a viewing stand on Gribbell Island. This spirit bear (a light coloured black) is a frequent visitor to this section of the stream, especially when the salmon are running, and like other black bears in the area, is well habituated to human presence. It barely paid us any attention and passed by the viewing stand a number of times. This photo was taken from less than 30 ft away. No cropping.
