September 2021 Newfoundland – Mile Zero Tour

September 2020. E.C. Manning Provincial Park

After five days of smoke darkening the skies over Victoria and southern BC, the winds shifted and the air cleared enough that the blue sky appeared above. Not knowing how long this good fortune would last, we tossed everything into the van for car-camping and headed across to the lower mainland and then on to E.C. Manning Provincial Park. We were blessed with 3 days of lightly smoky skies. Only on the fourth day, did the smoke begin to return and it was incredibly thick on the fifth day as we drove back to Vancouver.

July 2020 Northern BC

This was a trip that has been on my personal bucket list for many years, if not decades. Northern BC has held a strong allure ever since I first learned about places like the Stikine, Mt. Edziza, Stone Mountains, and the Northern Rockies.

Details about the trip including route and highlights can be found in my blog.

March – May 2020. Greater Victoria Parks and Trails.

These were personal trips. My wife accompanied me on most of the explorations. Under COVID19 travel restrictions, I, along with everyone else, was forced to confine my travels to the local region. Fortunately Greater Victoria is bless with many beautiful and fascinating parks and trails.

After nearly two months of effort focused on visiting and exploring our region’s municipal parks and trails, there’s still lots left. “No park unexplored, no trail untrod” is our motto.
